Process for breaking a fast

Fasting RetreatIt will always be a different approach depending on how long you fast. For example if you have been fasting for 7 days you want to break your fast with fruits, veggies, next day add grain, legumes, nuts and seeds.
If you fast longer, for example for 2 weeks, you want to eat fruits and veggies for 2 days, then add grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. If you know me I am an advocate of plant base so I won’t add animal products, including eggs and cheese except raw organic goats milk or raw goat cheese sparingly.

How long should I fast?

I recommend fasting for 24 hours once a week for optimal health. This is how I do it; at 11 am I eat a hearty meal to feel comfortably full. Perhaps corn, and potato with greens. At 5 pm make a veggie broth, 1 mug will do. I use an organic broth which is  better than bouillon. Next AM drink something hot, such as coffee, black tea, hot lemon with stevia and water. When you drink something hot in the AM it starts the digestive system moving and then you will have a healthy bowel movement. What a wonderful way to start your day! Be sure to drink at least 2 liters of water during the day. You may drink organic green juices or smoothies as well.
