April 25, 2017What is the deal with Soy?
I remember speaking to a large group of people and brought up the subject of eating soy products.
A lady sitting in the very back stood up and totally condemned me for the praises I gave about ingesting soy. She became very upset and said soy was very bad etc.
Here are some reasons soy products should be an important part of your diet.
- The Japanese are the healthiest people on the planet. The Japanese have been eating soy for the last 5,000 years.
- Studies now show eating soy can cut the risk of breast cancer later in life by half. If women consume soy primarily as an adult, though, their risk reduction may be closer to 25 percent.
- Soy must be organic. That is so very important, because 90% of soy grown in the USA is GMO and you do not want to consume GMO products.
Quote: there have been five studies on breast cancer survivors and soy consumption. Overall researchers have found that women diagnosed with breast cancer who ate the most soy lived significantly longer and had a significantly lower risk of breast cancer recurrence than those who ate less. The quantity of phytoestrogens found in just a single cup of soy milk may reduce the risk of breast cancer returning by 25%.
This is such great news, because there have been so many misconceptions about soy consumption.
Please remember there are now so many soy substitutions for animal products, not to mention how absolutely delicious and healthy they are. One of my favorites is phony bologna and barbecue tofu.
